We’re excited to announce that our heata unit has been selected as one of the '50 greatest innovations of 2023' by Popular Science!

In its 36th annual 'Best of What's New' awards, the heata unit appears under the top engineering innovations category and is listed alongside some other amazing uses of tech, like The Brimstone Process - a way to make carbon-negative cement - by Brimstone, Revuelto by Lamborghini - the sports car superbrand's electrified iconic V12, as well as other well known car manufacturers, Volvo and Kia.

Meanwhile, the larger list contains some other cool projects, such as Awarion by Charles River Analytics. Awarion is a new computer vision system trained to ID marine life and vessels on infrared camera images making sure whales are detected before hitting busy shipping lanes or wind farms - keeping both the whales safe and helping boats avoid collisions!

Popular Science Technology Editor-in-Chief, Annie Colbert, commented:

"Since 1988, Popular Science has proudly celebrated the groundbreaking innovations changing our world. The Best of What’s New Awards showcase the year's radical ideas that are improving our everyday lives and our futures. From pioneering disease treatments to inspiring progress in space exploration, and from the electrification of the auto industry to forward-thinking gadgets, this year’s list truly represents the Best of What’s New in 2023."
